JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: OPTHALMOLOGY/OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY: The Ophthalmology technician treats all patients as guests in a welcoming, courteous, respectful, and helpful manner. This position is responsible for diverse clinical and technical responsibilities as defined below. They always act as a Practice Ambassador.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working knowledge of eye anatomy and ocular pathology.
- Conduct tests to measure Intraocular pressure.
- Refractions/visual acuity.
- Take medical and drug history.
- Administer topical medications.
- Conduct diagnostic testing (Visual fields, OCT’s, Fundus Photos, FA’s, PAM’s, IOL Master, etc.)
- Operate, clean and maintain ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment.
- Measure lens power.
- Clinical triage.
- Referrals.
- Pharmacy calls.
- Scribing.
- HIPAA
- Maintain proper skillset, education, and experience.
- All other duties assigned by Management.
Ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED with an Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
