Position Summary
The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties that support the ophthalmologist in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves collecting patient information, documenting medical histories, performing diagnostic testing, assisting physicians during examinations, and administering treatments as directed and permitted.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collect and document accurate patient information and medical histories
- Perform ophthalmic measurements and diagnostic testing as directed
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures
- Maintain precise and consistent patient records
- Provide chairside assistance to the ophthalmologist
- Administer treatments as ordered by the physician and within scope of practice
- Ensure a positive patient experience by addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Support clinical workflow while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards

Education and ExperienceRequired
