What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician Waterbury & Orange, CT position at The Eye Care Group?
The Eye Care Group is an established group of Ophthalmologists (14), and (1) Optometrist in four towns in CT. You can find us in Southbury and Waterbury in our northern region, and Orange and Branford in our Southern region. Weekly traveling required: please let us know your preference (Waterbury/Southbury) or (Orange/Branford)
Responsibilities:
- Gather and document patient's information.
- History taking, vision check, read glasses, AR, ancillary testing (CFF, pupils, EOM, cover test), IOP check via GAT or iCare, check angles iris and cornea, drop instillation.
- Refraction
- Scribing
- Medication Prescriptions
- Perform photography (OPTOS)
- OCT
- Assist with Retina injections
- Must be comfortable with EMR/EHR systems( Nextech a plus)
Requirements:
- Must have a CT DL
- Must have first two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof if hired (or certified Exemption letter)
- Reliable transportation - must have own vehicle
- Will be traveling to Waterbury/Southbury or Orange/Branford
- Must be willing to volunteer 1 Saturday shift a month (volunteer rotating schedule)
Technicians at The Eye Care Group will have the opportunity to learn not only the basics of ophthalmology, but additionally, assisting fellow technicians and doctors of various specialties in a private practice setting. We also offer CEU credits through IJCAHPO.
