We are seeking a personable, organized, and motivated Cosmetic Assistant to support our Oculoplastics Physician and cosmetic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about aesthetics, patient care, and helping grow a thriving cosmetic practice.
Position Summary
The Cosmetic Assistant will play a key role in supporting cosmetic procedures, patient consultations, scheduling, treatment coordination, and overall workflow for the aesthetic department. This individual will assist with patient education, treatment preparation, follow-up care, inventory management, and administrative support while helping create an exceptional patient experience.
The ideal candidate is highly professional, detail-oriented, customer-service driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced cosmetic and medical environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the physician during cosmetic consultations and assist or perform certified procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, supplies, and equipment for procedures
- Educate patients on cosmetic treatments, skincare products, pre/post-treatment instructions, and treatment plans
- Coordinate scheduling for cosmetic consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments
- Track patient treatment plans, photos, consent forms, and progress documentation
- Support patient retention and follow-up communication initiatives
- Maintain cosmetic inventory including injectables, skincare products, and treatment supplies
- Assist with cosmetic photography and chart documentation
- Help manage patient inquiries regarding services, pricing, and treatment options
- Support front desk and administrative functions as needed
- Participate in marketing events, promotions, and community outreach initiatives
- Ensure all treatment areas remain clean, organized, and stay informed and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a medical, cosmetic, dermatology, plastic surgery, med spa, or ophthalmology setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Comfortable discussing cosmetic procedures, skincare products, and fees with patients
- Basic computer and EMR proficiency
Preferred
- Experience assisting with cosmetic injectables or aesthetic procedures
- Medical assistant certification or aesthetic experience
- Knowledge of skincare products and cosmetic treatment plans
- Experience with patient photography and cosmetic documentation
- Sales or cosmetic consultation experience
