Job Description
Applies expert knowledge of the data management process to the support of Exchange data base management within the IT infrastructure portfolio. The tasks associated with this support may include, but are not limited to reviewing, evaluating, designing, implementing and maintaining corporate data bases, identifying data sources, constructing data decomposition and data flow diagrams, writing code for accessing and modifying data bases and constructing stored procedures. Responsible for ensuring IT compliance to security, audit policies, and procedures. Monitors and tunes data base systems to achieve optimum performance. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and documentation, provides project leadership for the planning and execution of major data base projects, and provides guidance and advice to developers and users concerning data bases capabilities, software, hardware, and procedures. Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Defines disaster recovery requirements and plans and delivers a disaster recovery solution for the data base environment. Coordinates with Exchange business units, the project management office (PMO), outside entities and IT staff to confirm compliance and risk mitigation has been met. Serves as third level support by identifying, evaluating, and troubleshooting non-routine events and incidents associated with the data base management processes. Responds to telephone calls and email requests for data base management processes. Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.
