What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Attorney position at The Exchange?
Reports to a Deputy General Counsel. Responsible for handling complex business transactional legal matters.
ON-SITE work requirement, Corporate office 3911 S Walker Blvd, Dallas TX 75236
Major duties
- Provides legal review of proposed business agreements, procurement actions, contract claims and contract enforcement.
- Practices preventive law, which may include developing and conducting educational sessions regarding prevention of litigation and, recommend changes to policy impacting The Exchange.
- Provides analysis of current and proposed laws and policy and provides counsel to The Exchange directorates.
Job Qualifications
- Law degree
- 5 years legal experience as a licensed and practicing attorney, with at least 3 years' experience with business transactional law.
- Exceptionally strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent legal research abilities.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong legal analytical skills.
- Strong collaborative skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Good business acumen.
- Ability to work independently with sense of urgency, responsibility and fairness.
- Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders ( executive management, military personnel and government personnel), adjusting communications to the situation, and successfully understanding and communicating priorities to each audience.
