Job Summary
Are you looking to get your foot in the door in the dog training industry? We are seeking a dedicated Dog Training Assistant, Walker, and Care Attendant to join our growing small business!
The job begins within our training program where you will take a deep dive into dog psychology and our training processes that we have cultivated over the past 12 years.
During our training program, you will be paid on an hourly basis. Please see below for more details on the training program.
After completing our training program, which can take 1-3 months depending on your current skill set and dog knowledge, you will be promoted to Dog Training Assistant, Walker, and Care Attendant. This is a salaried position. Please see below for details on the daily responsibilities of this position.

What we are looking for…
- Someone interested in making Dog Training a career, not a temporary job or stepping stone
- Minimum 1 year experience in professional animal care or handling (owning a dog is not included)
- Knowledge of basic dog training techniques is a plus
- An excitement and desire to learn and utilize new techniques in dog training and handling, including balanced training methods
- Ability to confidently handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills with pet owners and team members
- Physical fitness for walking, standing, and occasional heavy lifting
Interview Process:
Stage 1 - Interview with Kathryn Nilsson, Co-Owner and Head Trainer
Stage 2 - Interview with Jorge Rios, Co-Owner and Head of Operations
Stage 3 - Interview with Mikayla Honeycutt, Manager and Lead Trainer
Stage 4 - Come out to shadow a day
Training Program (hourly pay):
- In Depth Online Course - focused on basic knowledge, policies, and procedures
- Shadowing the Team - seeing it all in action to understand dog psychology, body language, and training techniques
- Hands on Practice - putting what you have learned to work as you gradually assume more responsibilities of our daily routine
Position Responsibilities Upon Completing Training (salary based):
- Walk and transport dogs of various breeds and sizes in all weather conditions (driving required)
- Provide fresh water and food as needed during morning, mid day, and evening visits
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each dog in your care
- Manage groups of dogs in play situations and free time
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their pets' needs
- Clean up after dogs during walks, in yard, and in kennels
- Assist in daily training activities with dogs in training
