JOB SUMMARY:We’re seeking a warm, professional, and highly organized Host to join our opening team at our new Yountville restaurant. As the first and last impression for every guest, the Host plays a vital role in setting the tone for the dining experience. You’ll greet guests with a genuine smile, manage reservations and walk-ins with care, and ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh concept in one of the most iconic culinary destinations in the country. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Greet all guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive first impressionManage the flow of the dining room by accurately taking and tracking reservations, waitlists, and seating assignmentsCommunicate clearly and efficiently with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth transitions and balanced table rotationProvide guests with accurate wait times and keep them informed with a friendly, approachable attitudeEscort guests to their tables and present menus while offering a brief overview of the restaurant or current specials when neededAnswer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and professional mannerMaintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and lobby areaAssist in setting the tone for service by helping with ambiance (lighting, music, temperature) and ensuring the entryway reflects our standardsHandle guest requests, feedback, and complaints with grace and urgency, escalating to management when necessaryCollaborate with the team during opening, closing, and peak service periods to ensure a seamless guest experienceREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 1 year of experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role preferredExceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a naturally warm and welcoming personalityComfortable using reservation management platforms (e.g., Resy, OpenTable, or similar systems)Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in a fast-paced environmentCalm and composed under pressure, with the ability to multitask and manage shifting prioritiesFlexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Professional appearance and demeanor, with a commitment to delivering outstanding hospitalityThe Estate Yountville offers an attractive compensation and benefits package and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
