ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Litigation Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring cases move forward efficiently. While the Paralegal does not set legal strategy, provide legal advice, or authorize Firm expenses, they are responsible for handling the day-to-day execution of casework, maintaining organization, and driving accountability across the litigation team. This is a highly skilled, detail-oriented role ideal for an experienced litigation paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Has at least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with 3 years in trusts and estates litigation.
• Can independently manage a case from intake through trial.
• Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Brings strong knowledge of Probate Code, CRC, and CCP.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with attorneys, clients, and staff.
• Is tech-savvy, resourceful, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office, and Clio (or similar case management systems).
• Thrives under deadlines and can juggle multiple priorities in a high-performance environment.
• Is a true team player with no ego—just excellence.
• Values process improvement and consistently follows up to ensure quality and completion.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Manage a portfolio of trust and probate litigation cases from inception through trial.
• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, discovery, and motions (electronic and physical).
• Conduct legal research, cite-checking, and prepare deposition summaries and trial binders.
• Oversee discovery, including drafting and serving requests and responses.
• Organize case files, maintain Case Management Workbooks, and ensure deadlines are calendared and met.
• Lead internal case check-ins and client goals meetings.
• Mentor junior paralegals and legal assistants to ensure performance standards are met.
• Review billing entries for accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as the hub of communication and accountability between attorneys, staff, and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years litigation paralegal experience, with at least 3 in trusts and estates litigation.
• Experience supporting at least 25 depositions and 3 trials directly.
• Strong knowledge of Probate Code, CRC, and CCP.
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro (OCR, Bates stamping, etc.) and familiar with Trial Director or equivalent tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and case management systems (Clio, MyCase, etc.).
• Bonus: experience with ClickUp or Asana.
• Ability to meet billable requirements with timely, accurate time entries.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
