The Esquire Hotel is seeking an experienced and hands-on Hotel General Manager to lead the daily operations of our 35-room boutique hotel affiliated with the Choice Hotels International Ascend Collection. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel performance, guest satisfaction, team leadership, facility management, and financial operations.
The ideal candidate is a service-driven hospitality professional with strong operational experience in boutique or select-service hotels, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain high brand and guest service standards while maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Ensure compliance with Choice Hotels International brand standards, policies, and operating procedures
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel performance metrics
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Handle guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery professionally
Front Desk Management
- Supervise Front Desk operations, scheduling, training, and guest service standards
- Ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes and accurate reservations management
- Monitor cash handling, billing accuracy, and night audit procedures
- Maintain strong online reputation management and guest review responses
Housekeeping Management
- Oversee Housekeeping department operations, cleanliness standards, laundry operations, and room inspections
- Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards
- Manage housekeeping staffing levels, scheduling, inventory, and supply ordering
- Conduct regular quality assurance inspections
Facility & Property Management
- Oversee hotel maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, and property inspections
- Coordinate repairs, vendor services, and contractor relationships
- Ensure compliance with all safety, fire, health, and OSHA requirements
- Maintain appearance and functionality of guest rooms, public spaces, landscaping, and back-of-house areas
- Monitor capital improvement projects and property upgrades
Financial Management
- Manage hotel budgets, labor costs, purchasing, and expense controls
- Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to maximize profitability
- Assist ownership with forecasting, payroll oversight, and revenue management initiatives
- Ensure proper inventory control and cost management procedures
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate hotel staff
- Foster a positive and accountable workplace culture
- Conduct employee evaluations and ongoing coaching
