The Ervin Group is a boutique interior design firm based in Brentwood (Nashville), TN, specializing in clean, curated, and highly functional spaces. Our work spans residential and commercial projects across the U.S., and we pride ourselves on delivering thoughtful, well-executed designs from concept to installation.
We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our growing design team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and operational sides of interior design and is excited to contribute across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
This position will primarily support the design team through space planning, sourcing, design presentations, and project coordination. This role will on occasion assist the senior project manager with project management, installations, and brand/social media support.
Design Team Support
- Assist with interior design concepts, mood boards, and client presentations
- Create and revise floor plans, layouts, and design drawings
- Source furniture, materials, lighting, fixtures, and finishes
- Support the design team with renderings, sample organization, and design documentation
- Maintain project design files, specifications, and schedules
- Research vendors, products, and materials
- Maintain an up to date materials library
- Attend site walkthrough meetings to take notes
- Assist Senior PM with purchasing and order tracking as needed
- Help coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery logistics
- Support installation preparation and occasional on-site project needs (light travel may be required)
- Assist with vendor communication and project organization
- Help maintain pricing, lead times, and procurement records
- Assist with capturing project content for Instagram and marketing purposes
- Help maintain organized marketing and presentation materials
- Support occasional administrative tasks that help keep projects moving efficiently
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of interior design or related experience preferred
- Proficiency in SketchUp required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Strong eye for aesthetics, materials, and spatial design
- Ability to work independently and proactively problem-solve
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
