JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the bi-weekly payroll cycle deadlines are met. Performs a variety of duties involving payroll processing including receiving, reviewing, entering, and auditing payroll data. Main point of contact for coordination of benefits and HR related issues for employees. Ensures adherence to established payroll, benefit and HR policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Responsible for maintaining high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment. This position deals with a wide range of critical issues under tight deadlines and pressure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Process payroll for multiple entities with bi-weekly cycles. Including but not limited to: reviewing employee time sheets for discrepancies; gross to net pay calculations; knowledge of payroll principles; withholding rules for voluntary deductions; and processing “off cycle” payroll checks as a result of terminations and severance payments etc.
· Set-up child support and garnishment orders.
· Processing employment verification requests.
· Create 401k/benefit files for processing and funding for assigned entities.
· Audits, corrects, and loads payroll journal entries for assigned entities.
· Performs payroll tax related activities to ensure the accurate and timely administration of all federal, state, and local withholdings, remittances, reconciliations, and reporting.
· Maintains current knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal wage and hour laws, employment laws, and payroll systems.

· Manage annual open enrollment.
· Performs all required pre-employment background checks.
· Reconcile insurance billings to the payroll system to ensure accuracy of coverage, payroll deductions and premium payments.
· Administer the COBRA administration program which includes processing notices, billing, and tracking.
· Process human resources activities such as staffing/job posting, reviewing and tracking of resumes, new-hire orientations, change-of-status, terminations, etc.
· Perform ad-hoc requests and assist with special projects and other initiatives as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience
· Experience with Kronos Workforce Ready, preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks
· Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
