What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Investor Relations position at The Equus Group?
Job Overview:
Our client is hiring a Vice President of Investor Relations who will manage and enhance relationships with current and potential investors, analysts, and stakeholders. This individual will act as the primary liaison between the company and the investment community, ensuring the company’s financial story is effectively communicated and understood. The Vice President will also play a key role in fundraising activities (working alongside others on the team), including managing capital-raising initiatives and enhancing the company's visibility among investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Investor Relations Strategy & Communication:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
- Serve as the company's primary spokesperson to investors, analysts, and the financial community.
- Provide detailed and insightful financial performance analyses to investors, ensuring transparency and clarity in communication.
- Prepare and oversee quarterly earnings calls, investor presentations, and shareholder reports.
- Maintain and enhance the company’s relationships with key institutional investors and analysts.
Fundraising & Capital Raising:
- Lead the development and execution of fundraising strategies, including capital raising initiatives through equity, debt, or other financing channels.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with potential investors, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and institutional investors.
- Coordinate the preparation of fundraising materials, investor pitches, and marketing collateral.
- Support the company’s efforts in securing funding for key initiatives, strategic investments, and expansion plans.
- Work closely with senior management and external advisors to negotiate terms and secure capital.
Market & Investor Insights:
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and investor sentiment to provide strategic insights to senior management.
- Provide feedback on investor concerns, questions, and interests, and develop strategies to address them.
- Manage investor databases, track shareholder compositions, and provide actionable insights to enhance shareholder engagement.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with senior leadership, including the CEO, CFO, and other executives, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Work closely with legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely disclosures, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing investor relations team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
- Foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and responsiveness within the IR team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, or finance, with a strong emphasis on fundraising and capital raising.
- Proven track record of raising capital through various means such as IPOs, secondary offerings, private placements, or venture funding.
- Deep knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and fundraising processes.
- Experience working in a senior IR role at a publicly traded company.

Salary : $300,000 - $350,000
