Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works in collaboration with Relationship Managers to source sound and profitable credit relationships.
- Analyzes and presents the financial condition of portfolio loans through financial statements obtained from businesses and guarantors.
- Performs comprehensive portfolio-level risk analyses, assessing borrower, collateral, and business line concentrations; conducts stress testing and leverages economic data in support of CECL modeling and requirements.
- Monitors relevant market trends to identify emerging credit issues and inform management as needed.
- Analyzes collateral as a source of repayment and uses knowledge of various collateral types to assess loss potential.
- Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
- Follows established lending procedures and makes recommendations to change policies/procedures when needed.
- In collaboration with the Chief Credit Officer, oversees key underwriting functions for the Bank, including new loan originations, renewals, and the annual loan review program.

Requirements
Job Skills:
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using underwriting platforms such as SageWorks, Baker Hill, Moody’s, or similar applications is preferred.
- Proficient working knowledge with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures, regulations, and business practices.
- Excellent credit administration skills.
- Advanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit analyst skills are required.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, have corrective solutions, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; collaborate and maintain working relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, employees and customers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or other applicable field from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience underwriting C&I, CRE and construction loans with experience underwriting alternative financing programs such as SBA desired.
- Advanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit analyst skills are required.
- Extensive knowledge of lending products, services, lending regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations relating to the commercial credit area.
