Position Summary

The Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated instruction in math and science to students in grades 3–5, supporting both academic and social-emotional development. This role requires a strong understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, as well as the ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of neurodiverse learners.

The ideal candidate is a flexible, collaborative educator who can break down complex concepts, foster student engagement, and build strong relationships with students and families.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet diverse academic and learning needs
  • Assess student progress through formal and informal measures and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to students and maintain ongoing communication with families
  • Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Integrate social-emotional learning, including the Friends and Feelings™ curriculum, into daily instruction
  • Support students in developing executive functioning, problem-solving, and self-advocacy skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to support student success
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction and student engagement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certification preferred
  • Experience working with neurodiverse learners, including students with ASD or twice-exceptional profiles (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and student-centered teaching practices
