The Hub enables a unique approach to growing entrepreneurially by leveraging the combined power of the University of Dayton and The Entrepreneurs Center (The Hub Operating Members).
Title
The title will be “Cleaning Associate” and will report primarily to the Janitorial Supervisor, or as otherwise directed by The Hub Operating members.
Responsibilities
The Cleaning Associate will assist The Hub by providing cleaning and space support. Responsibilities will focus primarily on cleaning, facilitating, and supporting the Hub Operations Department. These services will be performed at the Hub facility located at 31 South Main Street in Dayton.
- Washes windows and mirrors
- Takes out the trash and recycling
- Wipes down and sanitizes surfaces
- Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks restrooms
- Follows instructions from the head janitor
- Sweeps, mops, polishes, and vacuums floors
- Uses common cleaning tools and equipment
- Organizes the janitor closet and stores all supplies and tools
- Completes minor repairs, like unclogging toilets
- Notifies the head janitor when major repairs are needed
- Fills out janitorial checklists at the end of every shift
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Locks the doors at the end of night shifts
- Follows safety rules and precautions
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
Work Hours
This position is part-time with rotating shifts. The typical hours are 3:00- 9:00 p.m., but some evenings could be later, depending on event scheduling.
Job Qualifications
The Hub Cleaning Associate should possess the following general qualifications:
- Works well independently and has strong time management skills
- Follows written and verbal instructions from the janitorial supervisor
- Collaborates with other janitors and maintenance workers as needed
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds
Employment Compensation
Your Hub employment compensation will be $15 per hour through The Hub. Hub employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, a week in arrears.
Employment Schedule
The Hub employment schedule will consist of up to 32 hours each week. The employee, the Janitorial Supervisor, and the Director of Operations will identify times and days during which the employee will work at the Hub facility located at 31 South Main Street in Dayton.
