SMT Machine Operator 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled SMT Operator to join the electronics manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production lines, ensuring accurate placement of surface mount components, and overseeing reflow soldering processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to producing high-quality electronic assemblies in a fast-paced environment.

SMT Operator Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate SMT production equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.
• Load feeders and verify part numbers according to machine-provided load lists and build documentation.
• Select and install the correct stencil screens for screen printing operations.
• Follow all procedures related to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), board handling, and MSD (Moisture Sensitive Devices) requirements based on MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Levels).
• Use process sheets and work instructions to ensure proper assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
• Initiate and load correct programs for all SMT equipment and select appropriate reflow profiles.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on SMT machinery as scheduled.
• Clean circuit boards as needed, based on soldering chemistry.
• Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
• Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship per IPC-A-610 standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 6S and ISO quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives by reporting issues and suggesting solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and quality goals.

SMT Operator Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months of electronics manufacturing or SMT operation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SMT processes and equipment (screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens).
• Basic computer skills; experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
• IPC certification in Component Identification and IPC-A-610 Modules 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8 preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and build documentation.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities in a high-volume production environment.

Available Shift
Monday- Thursday 3:45pm- 2:15pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
