Sales - Vice President, Sales
- Primary Purpose
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive home sales, strengthen brand presence, and ensure exceptional customer experience. This role requires a leader with a strong background in home building sales, marketing strategies, and team management.
- Responsibilities
- Manage the entire sales and marketing department.
- Review and analyze sales numbers (prices, inventory, backlog, etc.) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and incentive programs.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed home sales and closing targets across multiple communities in the Carolinas.
- Work closely with design center staff/consultants to ensure that the correct options are being offered for sale and that they are packaged and priced accordingly.
- Keep the Management Team informed of opportunities, problems, progress, and support needed.
- Participate in forecasting and other relevant business analysis on all projects and land transactions.
- Partner as needed with other departments and functions such as Operations, Finance, Purchasing, Construction, Accounting, Land A&D, etc.
- Grow Empire Homes market share in participating markets.
- Develop and maintain a Competitive Market Analysis (CMA) system to track market trends, competitor pricing, and buyer preferences.
- Utilize CMAs to influence product design, pricing, and sales strategies to align with market demands.
- Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline required. Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction, real estate markets, and sales management best practices is highly valued.
- Professional/Trade Expertise Experience

- 10 years of sales experience in the homebuilding or real estate industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Must hold and maintain an active North Carolina and South Carolina Real Estate license in good standing, including membership in a local Board of Realtors
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
- Knowledge of Carolinas housing market and regional economic drivers

- Manage the entire sales and marketing department team to ensure consistent closings.
- Recruit, train, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
- Review sales goals regularly and evaluate performance against benchmarks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Work consistently with sales team, agents, marketing personnel, and vendors to drive growth and assist personnel with motivation, retention, and personal achievement.
- Oversee the development of sales meetings and training sessions with accurate market data, and essential marketing and financial direction.
- Review sales goals regularly and evaluate performance against benchmarks, implementing corrective actions as needed.

- Develop and oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns, including digital, print, social media, and community outreach.
- Manage brand positioning and messaging to enhance company reputation and market share.
- Implement processes to enhance customer experience from initial inquiry to home closing.
- Establish baseline metrics and strategies to increase Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) through structured follow-up, referral programs, and continued brand engagement.
- Ensure sales and marketing efforts align with company values and customer expectations.
- Coordinate the sales and closing process with the sales team.
- Keep up to date on all Empire Homes products in addition to competitors.
- Ensure structured pipeline management, tracking conversion rates at each stage to maximize efficiency and revenue.
- Ensure structured coaching programs are in place to improve agent performance and accountability.
