What are the responsibilities and job description for the EVP - Employee Engagement / OD Leader in New England position at The Employee Engagement Group?
Job Summary:
Help us rock the world!
As a small boutique firm with 15 years of experience, we passionately envision ourselves as the global leader in employee engagement. Although we are virtual, we seek a New England based leader.
Our unique blend of products includes data driven surveys and assessments, dynamic online programs, conferences, and workshops. We are looking for someone who sees themselves in our values -- Fun, Purpose, Performance, Creativity, Learning, and Passion. Is this you?
We are looking for a HANDS-ON consultant who is interested in leading our operations while also helping us shift the balance of our business to an online products business blend. First and foremost, you should excel as a consultant, while embodying the roles of a business developer, a leader of people, and demonstrating a genuine passion for employee engagement. This person will manage the team, oversee operations, run meetings, keep the team on schedule and within budget, and take over all operational responsibilities so our creative founder can focus his energy in the ‘laboratory’ (writing, creating new content and products), while continuing with his own client engagements. Oh, he also wants to spend more time with his beautiful grandkids and his dismal golf game.
You must have the entrepreneurial spirit, though to be frank, if you want BIG, this isn’t for you. We aspire to grow, and you can help lead this, but in a way that suits us. We're a niche firm, small and cuddly. Small is nice and small fits our culture. Small ensures we select the clients we want to work with, best in class quality, speed, and innovation. Small also means we’re 'all hands-on deck' - meaning, like all of us, you need to pay for yourself - so arriving with your own backlog would give you an advantage. The ideal candidate has had success as an entrepreneur and consultant but perhaps is facing the "is this all there is?" career dilemma and is now ready be part of something bigger while also leading a small team.
Still with us? If so, we invite you to explore further.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· As our leader, you will steer our path in the years ahead
· Lead the ongoing development of a small but talented team of engagement ambassadors (think 'small and scrappy')
· Do client work, but not so much that you can’t run the business
· Oversee the operations, backlog, booking trends, client deliverables, etc.
· Flex your presentation, thought leader, and influencer prowess by championing Talent Management, Human Resources, and Organizational Development initiatives (If you've written a book, great! If not, you should!)
· Engage in client events related to surveys, assessments, workshops, conferences, and keynotes
· Lead the continued launch and development of our online products
· Lead our social media outreach - as we tend to be more bashful than we know we need to be
· Lastly, and most importantly, transition ownership to yourself and the team (an intriguing option - use the cash flow of the business to finance the transition)
Position Requirements:
· BA/BS required; Masters preferred (MBA would be cool)
· At least 10 years’ experience working in human resources, organizational development, consulting, and / or other human capital related role
· Experience as a successful consultant, and prior experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
We offer an incredible journey, a remote work culture, a variety of projects, a nurturing learning environment, equity (yes, an ownership transition to the team is the plan), unmatched professional growth, and an opportunity to partner with a recognized global thought leader. Help us further leverage our treasure trove of tools too, from the most watched engagement YouTube videos on the planet to best-selling engagement books, engagement surveys and assessments, to owning and hosting a wildly successful annual Human Resources Summit, to offering a plethora of online courses and beyond! Heck, we even own the domain!
Ready to join our adventure? We are looking for someone who works hard and plays hard, and who has a desire to have fun, laugh, and learn. Compensation includes a smaller base salary than you want, but a greater upside than you currently have).
Drop us a note and let us know what you think, and why you are the perfect one in a million candidate. Include any social media links, resume, and cover letter. . . you know the drill!
