JOB TITLE: Revenue Cycle Manager for Emergency Physician Group
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
JOB PURPOSE: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Revenue Cycle Department. Participates in the development and implementation of billing and collections policies and procedures and audits current procedures to monitor, improve efficiency and comply with applicable participation agreements and regulatory requirement. Involved in the hiring, managing and training of department staff. Provides regular reports on receivables, claims in progress, productivity and other management data, as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Supports the Managing Director of Finance (physician)
· Maximize collections from all patients, insurance companies, government and other payors for services provided while complying with applicable regulations
· Communicate goals and strategies of the company to the revenue cycle staff.
· Set departmental goals and provide monthly progress updates
· Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operation of the department in order to meet established goals and timelines.
· Work with the Executive Director to hire and supervise personnel, including work allocation, training, and problem resolution
· Track and monitor employee performance and conduct annual performance reviews. Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance and make recommendations for personnel actions including termination
· Work with superiors in the continuous evaluation and improvement of existing systems and procedures, especially those related to reimbursement maximization and accounts receivable
· Prepare monthly reports including number of visits billed, total charges, accounts receivable, and other reports as required
· Requires high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, decision-making and self-direction to accomplish multiple goals of client practices
· Strong communication skills with varied groups, ability to lead and motivate staff, resolve conflicts and create a collegial environment.
· Provide regular reports to the Executive Director as requested
· Other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
· Minimum 3 years of experience in management level supervision required, with prior experience in training
· Experience in medical billing (ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS)
· Emergency revenue and billing experience preferred
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge and understanding of medical billing and/or coding systems
· Knowledge of computerized information systems used in medical billing
· Ability to supervise, train and motivate employees

· Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments, while fostering a cooperative work environment
· Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range goals
· Must be well organized and detail-oriented

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, and skills.
