About the Job

The EI Group is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Environmental Technician to join our team and play a key role in environmental field data collection at industrial and commercial sites across the region. This position will work with our project teams to collect environmental data for state and federal reporting requirements. Experience with field data collection for hazardous materials including, but not limited to asbestos, lead-based paint, radon, and mold is desired but not required. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to various project sites and conduct field work in both a team environment and independently.


Responsibilities

  • Collect field data, observe, document field work, as directed.
  • Use sampling and data collection equipment in accordance with equipment specifications and technical SOPs.
  • Provide technical support to project managers with data collection, date entry, assembling reports and project deliverables.
  • Perform project tasks in accordance with environmental and other applicable rules and regulations as well as with approved project plans.


Required Qualifications

  • Proficient Computer skills – using Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify hazards, and recommend effective control measures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience conducting asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, and indoor air quality assessments in industrial, residential and/or commercial settings.
  • EPA Lead-Based Paint and Asbestos Accreditation
  • NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course for Sampling and Evaluating Airborne Asbestos Dust
  • Radon Measurement Specialist/Radon Measurement Professional
  • Proficiency in using specialized equipment for sample collection and analysis, including air monitoring instruments, microscopy, and lead testing kits.


Additional Details

  • EI will provide all necessary technical training included in the preferred qualifications through our regional training centers
  • Successful candidates will be placed on career track to gain additional knowledge and experience for a career path in Environmental Science and Industrial Hygiene.
  • Travel Required: a mix of local and regional project work, short duration overnights (1-3 day away from home)
