What are the responsibilities and job description for the Higher Ed Research Intern position at The Education Trust?
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY
EdTrust seeks a Higher Ed Research Intern to join a staff committed to fulfilling our mission of closing opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.
The Intern will support the data management and analysis for the team’s data tools, including creating a streamlined process for downloading, cleaning, merging, and appending postsecondary data to create the metrics contained in EdTrust products such as College Results, Segregation Forever, The Affordability Gap, and the Public Tableau. The work will primarily focus on using publicly available data to create compelling narratives about the current state of access, accountability, affordability, and success for low-income students and students of color in postsecondary education. This work sits at the intersection of quantitative research, data infrastructure, and public-facing tools, with a focus on making education and workforce data more accessible and actionable.
EdTrust is committed to advancing policies and practices to dismantle the racial and economic barriers embedded in the U.S. education system. Through our research and advocacy, EdTrust improves equity in education from preschool through college, engages diverse communities dedicated to equity and justice, and increases political and public will to build an education system where all students will thrive.
