The Edgett Law Firm is looking for an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney (1-3 years) to expand its team as soon as possible in the areas of Criminal Defense and some Family Law. We primarily handle criminal cases throughout the DFW Metroplex with the majority of our cases in Collin County and Denton County, with some in Dallas County. We are looking for a self motivated team player who is looking to grow with our current law firm team for years to come. Duties-
*Handle all criminal court appearances, negotiations, plea settings, bond modification hearings, suppression hearings, open pleas, bench trials, and jury trials in all counties around the DFW Metroplex.
*Client management, interaction, meetings, updates, telephone calls, emails, text messages, and strategy sessions.
*Review discovery/evidence and review with client. Case file workup.
*Conduct thorough legal research, prepare legal documents, and draft pleadings.
*Jail Meetings/Visits.
*Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
*Maintain meticulous case files and documentation.
*Intake of new potential clients.
*Marketing - The Edgett Law Firm holds numerous marketing events each year such as concerts, sporting events, local festivals, dinners, and happy hours. You will be required to attend as many as you can each year with the entire law firm.
Qualifications-
*Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
*Admission to the Texas Bar with good standing.
*Admission to the Eastern District of Texas (EDTX) & Northern District of Texas (NDTX) Federal Courts. (Not required but we can obtain and sponsor your admission within the first 6-12 months of employment).
*Experience in criminal defense law, including but not required, some trial experience.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Reliable transportation.

Benefits-
*Highly Competitive salary as detailed below:
- $130,000.00 Base Salary.......plus
- 25% of all new business brought into the Edgett Law Firm on your own in the areas of criminal defense, juvenile law, family law, and personal injury.
- 50% of all of your own court appointment cases.
- All bonuses detailed above are paid out the following month on the 15th from what was accomplished/obtained the previous month.
*Paid Holidays (11 Paid Holidays Based Upon Collin County government schedule). These are effective immediately upon hire.
*Paid Personal Time/Vacation Time (12 days per year accrued at a rate of 1 day per month). These can be used after 60 days after hire date.
*Team trips, outings, retreats, and seminars.
*Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, and other miscellaneous benefits will be available after 90 days of employment through the Texas Bar Insurance Program.
