About Our Firm-
The Edgett Law Firm is a well-established criminal and juvenile defense practice with deep roots in the North Texas legal community, representing clients in criminal defense, juvenile defense, CPS, and protective order matters.
With over 15 teammates on our law firm team, we are collectively tight-knit and driven for one result. We work hard for our clients and take pride in delivering results. We are looking for the right person to be the face of our law firm, the first voice our clients hear, and the gatekeeper for our team members. MUST BE PROACTIVE AND RESOURCEFUL!
The Role-
As our Legal Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for every client, potential client, and visitor who walks through our door or calls our office. You will keep our front office running smoothly while supporting our attorneys and other team members with day-to-day operational needs. This is not a background role. You will set the tone for every client experience we deliver.
What You Will Be Doing-
• Answering and directing all incoming phone calls for both law firms in a professional and warm manner.
• Greeting clients, visitors, and attorneys with a welcoming presence.
• Scheduling and confirming client consultations and court-related appointments.
• Managing initial intake for new client inquiries qualifications across all criminal and juvenile defense matters.
• Maintaining and updating client file notes, case management software, and intake program/system.
• Handling outgoing and incoming mail, faxes, and email correspondence.
• Coordinating between team members and clients to relay messages and updates in a timely manner.
• Assisting with general administrative tasks including copying, scanning, and document organization.
• Keeping the reception area organized, professional, and presentable at all times.
What We Are Looking For-
• Prior experience in a law firm environment is a MUST!
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple calls and tasks simultaneously without losing composure.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
• Proficiency with standard office software including Microsoft Office, GSuite, and basic case management or scheduling tools.
• High level of discretion and respect for client confidentiality.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and genuine care for the people we serve.
