What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Technician position at The EDGE?
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete general repairs, including drywall patching, painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain building equipment, fixtures, and amenities
- Replace HVAC filters, light bulbs, and other routine maintenance items
- Perform detailed cleaning beyond regular daily janitorial work
- Prepare rooms for programs, events, and classes by moving furniture and equipment
- Assist with recycling, waste removal, exterior upkeep, and seasonal snow removal
- Help maintain pools and hot tubs, including equipment checks and water chemistry
- Respond to changing facility needs and complete other related projects
- Participate in a rotating weekend and on-call coverage schedule
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, cleaning, or the trades
- Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts
- Reliable, self-motivated, organized, and able to work with limited supervision
- Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift or push up to 75 pounds and perform physical work, including bending, kneeling, climbing, and walking
- Pool Operator and CPR/AED certifications are not required before hiring. Necessary training and certification will be provided at the company’s expense.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Schedule is Sunday-Thursday, daytime hours
- Willing to train the right person
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
