Quality Engineer
Bellefontaine, OH
We are supporting hiring efforts for our long-standing client, a global automotive glass manufacturer, to find a Quality Engineer for their Bellefontaine facility. This Quality Engineer will ensure that quality standards are met throughout production by performing testing and inspections of materials, products and processes. This is a full-time position in the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control systems and processes.
- Identify areas for improvement in the production process, reducing defects and enhancing quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, production and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in development and maintenance of quality assurance documentation, including process flows, inspection reports and corrective actions.
- Use process improvement and problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, Root Cause Analyses or similar tools to improve and resolve issues.
- Work on the production line as well as directly with customers, making design improvements and solving quality issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Sciences or related field).
- Master’s Degree Quality or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years Quality Engineering in automotive manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of automotive standards and regulations (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA, APQP).
- Working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC and MSA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management tools such as ERP systems or SAP.
- Working knowledge of CAD and engineering drawing interpretations.
