Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Bellefontaine, OH
We are supporting hiring efforts for our long‑standing client, a global automotive glass manufacturer, to identify a Quality Engineer for their Bellefontaine, OH plant. This on‑site, full‑time role is critical to ensuring that quality standards are upheld throughout production. This Engineer will perform testing and inspections of materials, products, and processes to maintain compliance, drive consistency, and support continuous improvement across the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control systems and processes.
- Identify areas for improvement in the production process, reducing defects and enhancing quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, production and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in development and maintenance of quality assurance documentation, including process flows, inspection reports and corrective actions.
- Use process improvement and problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, Root Cause Analyses or similar tools to improve and resolve issues.
- Work on the production line as well as directly with customers, making design improvements and solving quality issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Sciences or related field).
- Master’s Degree Quality or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years Quality Engineering in automotive manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of automotive standards and regulations (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA, APQP).
- Working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC and MSA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management tools such as ERP systems or SAP.
- Working knowledge of CAD and engineering drawing interpretations.
