The EDA for Black Communities is happy to announce an opening for the position of Program Coordinator. This role is responsible for developing and implementing program strategies across organizational verticals, including research, reporting, and event coordination. The Program Coordinator will also support active membership and stakeholder engagement, as well as fundraising activities such as reviewing and recommending grants. The focus of this role aligns with the mission of connecting, convening, and catalyzing people, resources, and opportunities to build inclusive economies positioned to prosper, grow, and thrive.
Candidates should demonstrate deep commitment to the mission, excel in navigating change, and proactively identify opportunities to advance organizational goals while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities. A strong understanding of inclusive economics and economic justice is essential, along with critical thinking, strategic planning, systems thinking, and geopolitical awareness.
Ideal candidate on day one will:
- Feel confident engaging in complex conversations around economic equity
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Manage seamless planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and events
- Support administrative and technical execution of initiatives
- Build partnerships and stakeholder relationships, produce summaries and recommendations, and manage multiple projects with accuracy and timeliness
- Understand communities of color, rural communities, and areas facing economic barriers
- Have a broad understanding of economic injustice, community-based work, policy, and advocacy
- Work well independently and collaboratively across teams
- Be motivated to identify challenges, innovate solutions, and improve systems
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, shifting environment
- Knowledge of principles and methods related to program development
- Proficiency in project management tools and communication platforms (Slack, Zoom, Monday, Google Meet, etc.)
- Strong prioritization, judgment, and workflow management
- Excellent computer, writing, organization, and communication skills
Program Coordinators must be actively engaged with their assigned regions, requiring 10–15% travel throughout Denver, Colorado. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus five years of experience in the nonprofit, public, or business sectors. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in economic development, policy, and advocacy.
The starting salary range is $54,000–$56,500, salaried and exempt, with full benefits. This full-time Denver-based role follows a hybrid schedule: Monday–Wednesday in office, Thursday–Friday remote, with occasional in-person meetings and events.
