Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join our firm at The East Carolina Law Group. We are a Veteran Owned and operated practice located in Currituck County, North Carolina where we have been established since 2016. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, adoption, and related issues. Your energetic approach and strong advocacy skills will help clients navigate complex legal processes with confidence. Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law cases, including negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
- Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, motions, settlement agreements, and court pleadings
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to family law and other practice areas such as estate planning, immigration law, employment law, and more
- Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and conducting depositions
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, gather information, and advise on legal options
- Manage multiple cases efficiently using legal case management systems like Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Stay current on procedural law changes and maintain thorough knowledge of statutory legal research requirements
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in North Carolina
- Excellent interpersoanl communications skills is a must
- Proven experience in family law practice with familiarity in personal injury law, employment law cases, or general & commercial litigation is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively in court depositions and trial settings
- Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw or LexisNexis for comprehensive legal analysis
- Knowledge of procedural law and experience drafting contracts, motions, and legal pleadings
- Exceptional writing skills for clear legal drafting and client communication
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior law office experience demonstrating familiarity with legal case management software

Pay: $75,857.81 - $91,355.64 per year
