WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Ensure seamless streaming performance through hands-on technical leadership across all local broadcast and streaming programming to create a consistent, high-quality viewer experience for Scripps stations
- Partner with local station leadership and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize production workflows
- Create and champion forward-thinking standard operating procedures that embrace automation, self-contained modules, and a digital-first mindset, ensuring a consistent, high-quality viewer experience on any platform
- Assist stations with content creation and complex troubleshooting during critical events
- Collaborate with technology and editorial partners in the producer and content hubs
- BA/AS degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
- Generally, 5 years of experience in related field preferred
- Varied and flexible work hours dictated by news cycles and project needs
- Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays is required
- Stable, high-speed internet connection sufficient to support live broadcast operations and remote system access is required
- Proficient in non-linear editing skills along with deep technical knowledge
- Capability to work well under the pressure of a live broadcast
- Proven expertise in making quick, accurate decisions and providing clear instructions under time-sensitive conditions
- Strong aptitude for embracing emerging technologies and innovations, including AI integration and implementation
- Skilled at solving complex problems under pressure while applying hands-on technical knowledge
- Adept at providing remote technical support specifically for troubleshooting technical issues via phone with remote persons
- Excellent organizational and communication skills Complete understanding of scope and needs in the studio and control room
- Good knowledge of IT applications in relation to television broadcast equipment
