POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.
- Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms.
- Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture’s and turn mattress.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor.
- Dusts and polishes metalwork.
- Collects soiled linen for laundering.
- Maintains housekeeping carts.
- Removes trash collected by room attendants.
- Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect newspapers, trash, soiled linen.
- Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.
- Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.
- Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms.
- Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
- Assist room attendants with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc.
- Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
- Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other associates.
- Take up any tasks assigned by supervisors as and when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs frequently.
- Ability to move carts, furniture, linens, and supplies throughout the property.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
