Farm Manager

Overview/Opening:

We are looking for a dependable, live-in, hands-on Farm Operations, Animal Care Manager and Wrangler for day-to-day operation of our family-friendly 34 acre farm and petting zoo in Goshen, Ohio.

This hands-on working position requires the applicant to live on premise and is a great opportunity for one who is an experience rider with knowledge of horses and able to act as a Wrangler taking people on trail rides. They should also be able to perform basic farm-related tasks required for the upkeep of a small farm. You will be required to live on the farm. A newly decorated one-bedroom apartment will be provided at no charge. No pets are preferred, but an exception may be made for one small dog depending on breed.

This is a year-round position, but the Dude Ranch’s normal season is March 15th- December 1st. During the off-season the main responsibility will be taking care of the animals and general care of the farm since there will be no trail rides.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Animal Care: feeding, cleaning, daily care, monitoring animal health/well-being, maintaining safe animal areas.
• You can expect a five day work week, but it may consist of working weekends during the season as a Wrangler for trail rides.
• Farm Operations: maintaining the grounds, operating a tractor, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of buildings.
• On-site living to provide a consistent presence at the farm after normal business hours to ensure safety and security of animals.

The candidate must have a clean criminal background check and drug free. Periodic drug screening may be required.

Free housing will be provided including all utilities as part of your compensation package. Salary is $25-30,000 per year depending on experience, plus tips while acting as a Wrangler. Medical insurance and matching 401K available.
