Position Description
The Survey Department Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Londonderry, NH. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the surveying department, including managing survey teams, coordinating fieldwork, and preparing and reviewing survey-related documentation. The Survey Department Manager will ensure quality control, maintain schedule adherence, and collaborate with other departments to support land planning and engineering projects. Additionally, the candidate will play an active role in client communication and contribute to the overall strategic goals of the organization.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Land Surveying, Field Data Collection, and Survey Equipment Operation
- Experience with Survey Software, CAD Drafting, and Data Processing
- Knowledge of Boundary Law, Topographical Surveys, and Construction Layout
- Strong Leadership, Team Management, and Project Coordination skills
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication, Problem-Solving, and Organizational skills
- Proficiency in interpreting plans and legal documents
- Experience in managing schedules, budgets, and project deliverables
- Professional License as a Land Surveyor (LLS)
Candidate
The ideal candidate will actively lead and grow our current Survey Department in Registry Research, Boundary Determinations, Subdivisions, ALTA, Easements, Topographics, FEMA Surveys, Construction Layout, As-Built surveys, and everything related in supporting our "field-to-finish" land development work. Must have current NH LLS license, excellent survey skills, including embracing both the "old-school" art of survey knowledge, as well as the latest in applied technologies. Communication, project scheduling, and working in a multi-discipline team environment are all aspects that the successful candidate will embrace.

Our survey department is well-equipped at all levels, with 4wd trucks wrapped with professional graphics, licensed drone operators using the latest technologies including Matrice RTK, Zenmuse P1 cams and L2LiDAR, both Leica and Trimble robotic total station platforms and wireless data tablet computer collectors, as well as Carlson platforms, high precision GPS and the latest CADD technologies.
