Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Spa Director to lead our team and uphold the high standards of service excellence that define The Dragontree experience. Spa Director will oversee all aspects of spa operations at our new Boulder location, including financial management, customer service, staff development, and facilities maintenance. The ideal candidate will embody our values and be dedicated to creating a welcoming and healing environment for both clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Handle payroll, commission reports, and daily income management. Interpret financial reports and implement strategies to optimize profitability. Manage inventory and purchasing standards.
- Customer Service: Ensure the vision of the spa's culture is conveyed by all staff. Monitor customer satisfaction, solicit feedback, and address any issues promptly. Develop and maintain guidelines and foster a positive relationship with the community.
- Spa Environment Upkeep: Maintain a positive healing atmosphere, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure cleanliness and organization of the spa. Manage service contractors and ensure sustainable systems and processes.
- Sanctuary Maintenance: Maintain effective care-taking systems for the Sanctuary space. Ensure cleanliness, perform chemical and water checks, and manage service maintenance when needed.
- Staffing & HR: Lead staff with energy and vision. Build staffing schedules, oversee hiring procedures, and maintain internal staff retention programs. Provide ongoing skills training, conduct staff evaluations, and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Operations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, crisis management, and maintain up-to-date spa procedure manuals. Hold regular staff meetings and attend management meetings. Manage inventory effectively and update scheduling/POS software.
- Retail Merchandising: Oversee the retail sales floor, maintain stock levels, and create appropriate signage. Collaborate with owners on retail product buying, pricing, and promotions. Provide product education to staff and report on retail division performance.
- Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop the spa's marketing strategy and image. Maintain efficient front desk procedures for rebooking and internal marketing. Create in-house promotions and activities to enhance client engagement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in spa management or a related field.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and inventory.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Passion for holistic wellness and commitment to The Dragontree's mission and values.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
