Company Description

We are looking for a dedicated lead manager for our dessert business, The DoughCone. We are Houston's best food truck and we are a laid back and fun business to work with dealing in volume product.

  • We primarily operate on the weekends. You must have weekend availability.

    We specialize in a handmade donutcone filled with our made to order vanilla bean ice cream and unlimited sauces and toppings. You would be working closely under the owner's direction to grow market share, control costs, provide 5-star customer service, and direct team members on the truck. We are primarily a private catering business that operates our public facing business in Hermann Park, Memorial Park, Buffalo Bayou Park, and other conservancies / locations in the greater Houston area.

    We are seeking a dynamic individual with a positive attitude to join our food truck team. This role requires a blend of food preparation, driving, and managerial skills, including problem-solving and initiative-taking. Previous food truck experience is highly desirable. This position offers growth opportunities from team member to management level.

    Key Responsibilities :

    1. Food Prep and Cleaning :

  • Assist with food preparation and cooking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food truck and work area.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • 2. Driving and Transportation :

  • Drive a large FedEx or UPS-sized van, ensuring safe and timely deliveries.
  • Have a valid Texas driver’s license and reliable personal transportation (no ride shares).
  • Learn to drive the food truck efficiently.
  • 3. Customer Service :

  • Provide exceptional service to customers both inside and outside the truck.
  • Handle guest successes and issues professionally.
  • Train on our point of sale system and best practices for guest interactions.
  • 4. Inventory and Equipment Maintenance :

  • Assist with inventory management, including inventory runs and light errands.
  • Provide feedback on inventory levels and equipment maintenance needs.
  • 5. Event Management :

  • Learn and help manage various events.
  • Assist in event selling, social media, and administrative duties as needed.
  • 6. Team Collaboration :

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions with Avi and / or other managers.
  • Offer feedback and contribute to improving best practices and operations.
  • 7. Managerial Duties :

  • Run the food truck and events independently when managers are not present.
  • Manage scheduling, hiring, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee wholesale operations, including development and fulfillment.
  • Conduct forecasts, analysis, and maintain operational calendars.
  • 8. Growth and Development :

  • Start with food prep and driving duties, then progressively take on more responsibilities.
  • Potential for performance-based role advancement and compensation review after 1 year.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Reliable personal transportation (no ride shares).
  • Food handler or food manager’s certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous food truck experience (preferred but not required).
  • Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to take initiative.
