Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Bakery Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will greet customers, assist them with product selections, and ensure a positive shopping experience. This role involves handling sales transactions, packaging baked goods, maintaining cleanliness in the bakery, and managing customer requests via email.

(Start Date Beginning of August)

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and offer assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer questions about bakery products and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Package purchased baked goods in boxes and bags, ensuring proper presentation and protection.
• Complete sales transactions efficiently using the pricing system and process customer payments.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bakery sales counter, display case, food prep, and kitchen areas.
• Uphold food service health and safety standards at all times.
• Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally, striving to resolve issues promptly.
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy periods, to ensure efficient service.
• Manage and respond to customer requests and orders via email, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions with customers and coworkers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to answer questions clearly and concisely, both in person and via email.
• Proven customer service skills to address and resolve customer concerns effectively.
• Ability to remain upright and mobile for most of the shift.
• Proficient multitasking skills to manage serving customers during high-traffic times.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in preparing and packaging food items.
• Basic computer skills to operate pricing systems, process payments, and manage email correspondence.
• Knowledge of food service health and safety standards.

Additional Information:

• Prior experience in a bakery or food service environment is a plus but not required.
• Training will be provided for the right candidate.
