Position: Clinical Supervisor – RHY Bronx 24 Hour Drop-in

Supervisor: Director of Runaway and Homeless Youth Services

By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.

 

The Clinical Supervisor for Runaway and Homeless Youth will collaborate with the RHY Management Team to provide support necessary to engage new RHY members of the Door with appropriate mental health resources and screening, primarily through their clinical supervision of RHY case managers and mental health workers, who perform intakes with new young people, and as a first responder to crises. The Clinical Supervisor of Runaway and Homeless Youth will be provided with ongoing training and professional supervision.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support and supervision for Social Work staff and interns in the Bronx RHY program.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision for Social Workers and provide direct clinical supervision for LMSW Staff.
  • Responsible for overseeing and completing psychological evaluations for homeless youth and residents from supportive housing.
  • Continue the ongoing development and implementation of a clinical framework for screening, engaging and supporting youth and young adults (up to age 25) with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or who have a history or risk of homelessness; including mental health and psych evaluations.
  • Develop procedures and systems to provide clinical support to staff and interns; and other staff across agencies as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for Bronx 24 Hour Drop-in.
  • Support RHY Programs by assisting with behavior management of drop-in space, as well as basic needs when needed.
  • Oversee site visits for related contracts and ensure quality control of programmatic activities.
  • Facilitate training on trauma-informed care and mental health practices.
  • Assist with data collection, programmatic grant compliance and reporting.
  • Support interns in the thorough assessment of each young person and to develop service plans based on those assessments
  • Ensure that clients receive referrals to appropriate Door and community resources
  • Oversee coordination treatment plans with various service providers and internal departments
  • Maintain all reporting requirements, including those of the agency, all regulatory authorities
  • Work as an active member of The Door’s Behavior Management Team (BMT) and attend all associated meetings
  • Coordinate and facilitate case conferences, including staff from other program areas/agencies to determine appropriate plans for young people
  • Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention as necessary
  • Serve as expert for Administration of Children’s Services call determinations
  • Participate in agency-wide and department staff meetings monthly, as well as all scheduled team meetings
  • Any other additional responsibilities and functions as assigned by Director of RHY/Assistant Director of RHY and/or Managing Director.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work with two years relevant professional experience; LCSW required
  • Demonstrated ability to engage hard-to-reach populations
  • Familiarity and experience with trauma-informed approaches to service coordination and delivery
  • Experience and/or knowledge working with unstably housed youth.
  • Experience with urban homeless youth and LGBTQIA population, including assessments, counseling, and crisis management, demonstrated by a minimum of 3 years of service delivery.
  • Knowledgeable of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people
  • Understanding of adolescent development, assessment, counseling, and/or crisis management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency in Spanish, French or Mandarin strongly preferred
  • Ability to work effectively and creatively as part of an interdisciplinary team

 

Salary: $80,000 annually with benefits package

Hours: Full-time position- 35 Hours Monday-Friday (9am-5pm) evenings and weekends if needed.
