Direct Hire Quality Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Receiving Inspector to join our Quality team. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials and components to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, interpreting technical documentation, performing precise measurements, and maintaining accurate inspection records.

Unlike a traditional inspector role, this position requires strong technical reading and writing skills, the ability to work from blueprints, and a high level of accountability with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, components, and products for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical documents, and inspection criteria.
• Perform detailed measurements and tolerance testing using precision measuring equipment.
• Document inspection results accurately and completely in company systems.
• Complete data entry activities, which account for approximately 50% of the workday.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, nonconformances, and related quality documentation.
• Prioritize and complete inspection tasks using a first-in, first-out workflow.
• Monitor and respond to continuously updated task lists throughout the day.
• Identify quality issues and communicate findings to appropriate teams.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, procedures, and cleanroom requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in quality inspection, receiving inspection, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience performing dimensional inspections and tolerance verification.
• Strong technical reading and writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive with limited supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing, laboratory, medical device, aerospace, or similar quality-focused environment.

Work Environment

• Laboratory-style work environment.
• Requires standing for extended periods.
• Must adhere to cleanroom dress code and gowning requirements.
• Exposure to manufacturing and inspection equipment; some machinery may produce elevated noise levels.
• Combination of hands-on inspection work and computer-based documentation.

Benefits

• Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.
