The CAD Drafter is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and specifications using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This position works closely with engineers, project managers, manufacturing personnel, and customers to develop accurate drawings that support product design, fabrication, installation, and production activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, assemblies, and schematics using CAD software.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, calculations, and design concepts to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering changes and project requirements.
- Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and document management procedures.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and supporting manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production personnel to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and other technical specifications.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Support prototype development, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Organize and maintain electronic drawing files and engineering records.
- Participate in design reviews and project meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as:
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- Inventor
- Creo
- Revit (as applicable)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- 2 years of CAD drafting experience in manufacturing, engineering, architecture, or construction environments.
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, or construction standards.
- Experience creating 3D models and assemblies.

Benefits: Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment.
