The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the daily operations and functions of all divisions of the Dodson Companies. This employee will work directly with the CEO to maintain awareness of the activities of the businesss various individual departments and ensure the successful implementation of strategic change and organizational growth. The COO will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organization. The COO is responsible for introducing and implementing operational, managerial, and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls to the company. The ideal candidate will drive results, spur growth, and increase the overall efficiency and synergy of the organization.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide management to staff and leadership to the organization that aligns with the companys business plan and overall strategic vision utilizing the Traction EOS business model.
- Assist CEO and executive team members in creating, growing, and synergizing a world class, industry leading organization across multiple lines of business.
- Meets with and reports to the CEO about the companys daily operation, as well as about the CEOs plans for any upcoming adjustments or developments to business operations strategy, or other company goals and objectives.
- Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the CEO, Controller, and other key executive team members.
- Partner with the Controller to achieve favorable financial results with respect to sales, profitability, cash flow, mergers and acquisitions, systems, reporting and controls.
- Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance, and profitability.
- Create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes.
- Provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the company.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
- Cultivate and sustain a collaborative team setting.
- Works with department heads on budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation programs, and holds leaders accountable for outcomes
- Work closely with department heads to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company.
- Motivate and encourage employees at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company including but not limited to professional staff, management level employees and leadership team members.
- Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, banks, investors, and all other professional business relationships.
- Meet, interact, and present information effectively to potential investors and private equity firms.
- Foster a growth oriented, positive, and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- General administrative duties as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend some time sitting at a desk, working with a computer, and speaking with employees, customers, and vendors in person and by phone. This will require that the employee be able to sit for moderate periods, speak and hear. The employee will need to have visual acuity to read a computer screen and the manual dexterity to key at a rate required by this position and be able to manipulate a mouse.
- The employee will spend time in the field and at client locations. The employee will be required to operate a motor vehicle to inspect properties or meet with clients. At these locations, the employee will have to walk and stand for moderate periods. The employee may have to climb stairs, kneel and/or crouch to inspect the premises visually. The employee will need to lift item of up to 30 lbs. occasionally. The employee will need to have the visual acuity to inspect and make observations of properties and structures.
- The employee will work as part of a team, work directly with clients, and will represent Dodson Properties to the public. As such, the employee must have the ability to speak in public situations to individuals and groups and to work well with others on a consistent basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The duties of this role are mainly Administrative, but the individual may be required to travel or visit offsite locations during the normal functions of this role.

Qualifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelors degree in business or related field.
- Master of Business Administration preferred.
- 5-10 years of executive level operational experience required.
- 5 years at the COO level is preferred.
- Exceptional executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Budgeting and/or financial focused mindset helpful.
