SENIOR POWER BI / SQL DEVELOPERLocation: Washington, DC (Onsite 4 Days/Week)Type: ContractWork Arrangement: Hybrid Duration:12-month contract, with possible extension W-2 or 1099 No C2C, visa transfers, or sponsorshipOverviewThe Senior Power BI / SQL Developer will join the DevOps team supporting the implementation of a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with social workers, system developers, and agency stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues. The Developer will play a key role in ensuring accurate data migration from legacy systems to the new platform while designing, testing, and deploying analytical reports and dashboards.ResponsibilitiesConduct detailed analysis of data maintained in multiple sources and identify processes to validate and improve accuracy.Coordinate the CFSA data management governance structure, perform required analysis tasks, and support staff in implementing recommendations.Gather and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and data models.Design and prototype reports in Power BI and collaborate with vendors to deploy solutions using the CFSA Dynamics 365 platform.Develop complex SQL joins and scripts to establish measures across multiple data tables.Modify existing reports and create new ones based on database and user needs.Conduct QA analysis to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives.Manage Azure Data Services including Synapse/Synapse Links, Azure SQL Pool, and Data Lake environments.Deploy, maintain, and optimize reports in production.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent professional experience.Must be able to work onsite in Washington, DC four (4) days per week.Required ExperienceIT or related field degree or equivalent experience – 15 Years (Required)Report development and SQL query expertise – 11 Years (Required)Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience – 11 Years (Required)Microsoft Office/PowerPoint proficiency – 11–15 Years (Required)Power BI complex report development – 4 Years (Required)Azure Data Services (Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake) – 2 Years (Required)Agile process environment – 2 Years (Required)PL/SQL hands-on experience – 2 Years (Highly Desired)Business Intelligence (Cloud-Based) – 2 Years (Highly Desired)This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who IsAnalytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about data integrity.Skilled in building solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights.A collaborative team member comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Motivated by improving data quality, automation, and accuracy in system reporting.
