Dance Instructor (Independent Contractor – 1099)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday between 4:30 PM–6:00 PM and/or Friday 1:30–2:30 PM for the 2026–2027 school year
Location: Rotating across four Charlotte-area program sites
Class Structure: Two 45‑minute sessions per week at each assigned location (e.g., Site A on Monday, Site B on Thursday, Site C on Friday)
The Discovery Lounge is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and student‑centered Dance Instructor to lead enrichment classes for elementary students (K–5). We are looking for individuals who love working with children and can inspire creativity, confidence, and discipline through movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate dance sessions for K–5 students
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Rotate weekly between four program sites while maintaining professionalism and consistency
- Communicate effectively with site staff and follow all program procedures
- Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to lead with enthusiasm
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites
- Strong classroom management and group engagement skills
- Background in dance, cheer, performing arts, physical education, or similar fields preferred
- Ability to work independently while supporting program goals and expectations
Compensation
This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Compensation will be discussed during the interview and is based on experience and club type.
