The Discount Dock is opening a new location in Sheffield, AL! New inventory arrives daily.
We carry name-brand tools, power equipment, outdoor furniture, outdoor gear, fishing supplies, and much more. Our products come from one of the nation’s leading discount suppliers of new merchandise—think TJ Maxx, but focused on tools and outdoor gear.

Some days will also include handling online shipping orders.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selection, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Promote and explain product features, benefits, and financial services options to meet customer needs
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and cash management procedures
- Process sales transactions efficiently using retail software and perform basic math calculations for pricing and discounts
- Support loan processing activities when applicable, including explaining loan options and assisting with applications
- Maintain organized displays and stock levels to ensure an appealing shopping environment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and following up on customer requests
- Store will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
- Focus will shift to receiving inventory and packing online orders on days when the store is closed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for helping others is essential
- Basic math skills, including retail math and 10 key typing proficiency, are necessary for accurate transactions
- Knowledge of banking or financial services is a plus; familiarity with financial software enhances your effectiveness
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain products, services, and financial options to customers
- Ability to handle cash accurately, perform cashiering duties, and manage cash flow effectively
- A proactive attitude with the motivation to learn about sales techniques and financial products
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in sales or financial services is advantageous
