We’re Hiring: 2 Part-Time Workshop Instructors (Flat-Rate Contract)
Locations: Brooklyn, NY and Astoria, Queens
Program Dates: April 2026 – June 2026
Training & Onboarding Begins: April 2026
Pay: $750/month

Founded in 2014, The Dinner Table Documentary, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that partners with schools and community organizations to provide college and career readiness workshops for girls of color. Through live events and targeted programming, we create affirming spaces where girls can define success on their own terms.
We are currently seeking two Workshop Instructors to lead in-person school-based programming this spring.
Open Positions
1. Brooklyn, NY Instructor
- Tuesdays at 10:00 AM
- Wednesdays at 2:30 PM
- Programming runs April–June 2026
2. Queens, NY Instructor
- Fridays at 8:00 AM
- Programming runs April-June 2026
In addition to workshop facilitation, instructors will participate in a weekly prep and planning session (virtual or in person based on program needs).
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate after-school workshops every Tuesday from January through June 2026
- Lead weekly prep sessions every Thursday to plan, review curriculum, and prepare materials
- Build supportive, trusting relationships with students and school staff
- Implement The Dinner Table Doc’s curriculum and adjust for engagement and student needs
- Support coordination of field trips and special events
- Attend onboarding and training sessions starting in January 2026
- Submit attendance and session feedback after each workshop
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with middle or high school students (teaching, mentoring, youth development, etc.)
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Commitment to youth empowerment and educational equity
- Reliable availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays during program hours
- Comfortable using Google Suite and virtual communication tools
Additional Information
- This is a contract-based, in-person role
- Candidates must be based in or able to reliably commute to Brooklyn, NY
- A clear background check is required prior to start
