What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Press Production Associate (days) position at The Dingley Press, Inc.?
Position Overview:
The Prepress Production Associate is responsible for producing & reading proofs, which will be compared to the supplied customer proofs for accuracy. Proofs will then be prepared and sent to the customer. Upon the customer approval, plates will be generated for the press. The position will also be responsible for maintaining processors needed in platemaking as well as calibration of proofing devices.
Essential Job Functions:
This position requires a highly motivated person to work in a fast paced, detailed oriented environment to work as a team to get customer files ready to print. The individual will:
- Output & read contract proofs to check for Dingley Press specifications and flaws.
- Output & read Digital Mockups (DMU’s) to check for Dingley Press specifications and flaws.
- Mount proofs for the presses.
- Produce and package plates for the presses.
- Clean and maintain plating units and processors.
- Use appropriate documentation i.e. logs & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Aid Assistant and Pre-press Manager in clerical functions i.e. filing of jobs and stock supplies and return customer supplied media.
- Keep areas clean and hazard free.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Support with coverage of other shifts as needed.
Qualification/ Requirements:
- Basic Mac & PC computer skills.
- Be able to work independently.
- Communicate with internal and external customers to produce a high quality job.
- Ability to transfer customer files to outside vendor.
- High school math skills.
- High school English.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
