SAP GTS Functional Consultant - Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Process & Solution Analysis (SAP GTS)
  • Analyze current global trade, export/import, and customs compliance processes and map them to SAP GTS capabilities (e.g., Compliance Management, Customs Management, Risk Management).
  • Gather and document business requirements from trade compliance, legal, supply chain, and logistics stakeholders, translating them into functional designs for GTS configuration or enhancements.
  • Support design of A&D-specific trade scenarios (e.g., ITAR/EAR‐controlled exports, military end‐use controls) within SAP GTS.
• Compliance & Controls (A&D Focus)
  • Support implementation of export control and customs rules within GTS, ensuring alignment with corporate trade compliance policies and U.S. regulations.
  • Help design and validate screening processes (sanctioned/denied party lists, embargo checks) and license determination logic for A&D materials and customers.
  • Assist trade compliance teams in audits and investigations by providing system data, process documentation, and GTS transaction traceability.
• Testing, Deployment & Support
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for GTS processes (compliance checks, customs declarations, license determination, message flows), including integration and regression testing.
  • Participate in project cutover and go‐live activities, validating that GTS configurations, master data, and interfaces are ready and functioning as designed.
  • Provide ongoing production support for GTS issues, performing root cause analysis and coordinating fixes with functional and technical teams.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as a primary IT liaison between trade compliance, legal, supply chain, logistics, and IT for GTS‐related topics and changes.
  • Prepare and deliver user documentation, training content, and knowledge transfer materials for business users and support teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in global trade processes and GTS usage (automation, data quality, reporting).

Required Qualifications

• SAP / GTS 
  • Hands‐on experience with SAP GTS (or SAP trade compliance solutions) supporting export, customs, and/or compliance management processes.
  • Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA logistics and supply chain processes (e.g., SD sales, MM purchasing, deliveries) and how they integrate with GTS.
  • Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst: requirements gathering, process mapping, functional specification authoring, and participation in testing and go‐live.
• Experience
  • Typically, 5 years of progressive IT experience, including meaningful time in SAP / ERP environments and global trade or compliance processes.
