Job Overview
The Digital Economist convenes a global network of leaders across markets, policy, academia, and capital to shape the architecture of the next economy. Through private convenings and institutional collaborations, we operate at the intersection of governance, capital, and emerging economic systems, bringing together decision-makers who are influencing global direction.
This is a volunteer ambassadorship and a rare opportunity to place yourself in direct proximity to The Digital Economist and our annual World Bank Convening Week — one of the most influential gatherings in the global economic calendar.
As part of our annual Spring Convenings alongside the World Bank Meetings, we are selecting a small cohort of Spring Convening Ambassadors to support the experience from April 12–18, with a full day required on April 13.
Ambassador Responsibilities
- Support guest experience, including registration, check-in, and attendee engagement
- Assist with event production, setup, and breakdown
- Manage signage, wayfinding, and on-site coordination
- Provide speaker and session support
- Contribute to the seamless execution of a high-level international convening

Excellent interpersonal skills, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to think quickly and make decisions on the spot are essential. Prior experience in customer service or event management is a plus — but above all, we value a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Engage with event attendees through friendly conversations, providing information about the event’s schedule and activities.
- Assist in coordinating on-site activities such as product demos and interactive sessions to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage social media platforms by posting live updates, sharing photos, and encouraging audience participation to boost event visibility.
- Collect feedback and data from participants to evaluate engagement levels and improve future initiatives.
- Support branding efforts by distributing promotional materials and ensuring consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
- Represent the organization professionally during public speaking opportunities or guided tours.
- Support event marketing efforts by promoting the event through various channels and engaging with online communities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, customer service, or event support is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently in public and engage diverse audiences; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience with social media management, content creation, or digital marketing tools.
- Demonstrated ability to handle data collection accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of sales techniques or product demos is advantageous.
- Passion for branding, public speaking, and marketing with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours during the event period while maintaining high energy levels.
