Position Summary
Expanding GI practice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse practitioner to join our practice. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive gastroenterology patient care in both the outpatient clinic and hospital setting. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Primary Responsibilities
Outpatient Clinic:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and chronic disease management.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
Hospital Services:
- Perform hospital rounds on assigned patients.
- Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Coordinate inpatient care plans with nursing staff, case management, consultants, and ancillary services.
- Respond promptly to patient care needs within the hospital.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Louisiana.
- Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Previous experience in gastroenterology preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule
- Shared clinic and hospital rotation
