Senior Digital Marketing Manager
Location: Wilmington, NC (Hybrid)
Pay: $65k - $80k per year depending on experience
We are a fast-paced, collaborative digital marketing and sales agency looking for a dynamic "player-coach" to lead our digital marketing department. As the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, you will be the bridge between our creative team, web developers, accounts team, and our clients.
The role operates on a 60/40 split: 60% hands-on execution and 40% team leadership and high-level strategy. You will manage a talented 2-3 person content and ads team, ensuring we are hitting client KPIs, while also serving as our resident paid media expert, HubSpot architect, and digital project manager. Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership, Mentorship & Agency Innovation (40%)
- Manage and Mentor - Oversee a team of 2-3 content and ads specialists, ensuring high-quality output and that client goals and KPIs are consistently met.
- Team Scaling & Career Pathing - Actively manage the career growth and development of current team members, and lead the hiring, training, and onboarding of new digital specialists as the department expands.
- Cross-Functional Alignment - Work closely with the accounts team to ensure all digital deliverables are solid, on-time, and aligned with client expectations.
- Future-Proof the Agency & Champion AI - Lead our digital evolution by evaluating our current tech stack, identifying and rolling out AI agents and marketing software, and optimizing tools to massively scale our team's efficiency and capabilities.
Hands-On Execution & Platform Management (60%)
Digital Advertising & Campaign Strategy
- Lead the strategy, creation, and optimization of paid media campaigns across key platforms (Google Ads, Meta, etc.), overseeing client ad spends ranging from $2,000 to $50,000 per month.
- Act as the senior expert for the ads specialist, diving directly into the platforms to troubleshoot underperforming campaigns, optimize bids, and maximize ROAS across varying budget sizes.
HubSpot Architecture & Automation
- Serve as the agency’s go-to HubSpot expert, overseeing Marketing and Content Hub implementations for our clients.
- Create, implement, and manage customized chatflows, workflows, and automation strategies to streamline client campaigns, utilizing HubSpot's native AI features wherever possible.
- Develop and facilitate comprehensive HubSpot training sessions to ensure clients can utilize the platform effectively.
- Manage relationships with HubSpot representatives to maximize support and resources, while staying up-to-date on the latest platform features and industry trends.
Web Project Management & QA
- Coordinate with the web development team to manage project timelines, communicate requirements, and ensure alignment with agency standards.
- Collaborate with the graphic design team to provide guidance on website capabilities and limitations, ensuring designs are visually appealing and technically feasible.
- Oversee the website build and launch process, including managing redirects, conducting thorough QA checks, and ensuring smooth transitions.
Technical Web Support
- Manage DNS settings and coordinate web hosting for clients, ensuring stable performance.
- Monitor site outages or technical issues, quickly coordinating with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems with minimal downtime.
Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience - 7 years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, and 2 years of hands-on experience with HubSpot.
- Paid Media Expertise - Deep, hands-on experience managing and scaling campaigns in Google Ads and Meta Ads, with a proven track record of successfully managing varying monthly budgets (up to $50k/month) and a strong understanding of performance metrics (CPA, ROAS, CTR).
- AI & Tech Fluency - Hands-on experience utilizing AI marketing tools, agents, and software (e.g., ChatGPT, Veo, Gemini) to drive strategy and team efficiency.
- Analytical Mindset - Strong analytical skills and experience with digital marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
- Technical Translator - Possess a fundamental understanding of coding to effectively communicate with developers and make minor website adjustments as needed.
- Soft Skills - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
