Essential Requirements
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must pass DSS Central Registry Background Check, DSS Fingerprint Background Check and SLED Check.
- Must complete a Physical.
- Must have a TB Test.
- Must be able to speak fluent English.
- Must have vision and hearing adequate to maintain visual and/or auditory contact with children at all times.
- Must have sufficient mobility and strength to be able to lift a 40lb. child off the floor/ground.
- Must be able to get down to eye level with the children and be able to quickly reach an endangered or hurt child at a distance of 60 ft.
- Must complete required Annual DSS Training Hours.
Duties
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with menu plans and dietary restrictions
- Plan menus that incorporate nutritional standards, variety, and appeal for children of different ages
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating with precision and care
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist with food service by serving meals efficiently and courteously to children and staff
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation
- Follow all food handling regulations to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of all meals served
Experience/Skills
- Experience is preferred, but not required.
Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
